Top 5 Spooky Brands I've Been Obsessing Over

29.9.17

Since I'm always scouring the internet for the next cutest items I thought I would share a few brands that I have been fawning over for quiet some time!

First up we have Local Boogeyman, I discovered them awhile ago because Kat Von D shared a photo wearing one of their shirts and that's when I fell in love. I rushed to the website to find the most creepy cute monster themed clothing I had ever seen. Local Boogeyman features shirts with sayings on them, horror movie monsters, and they even did a collaboration with Rob Zombie himself called Zomboogiy, and that was enough to sell me!

Next up we have Killstar, it's a pretty popular brand with a huge selection of dark clothing that's sure to have something for everyone. They always have so many things I love and so many different styles, as well as everything from clothing and accessories to homewares and lifestyle! Right now I am absolutely in love with their bathing suits, especially the one I have put in the collage below!

JoinTheKVLT is a brand that I have been a fan of for quite some time now. I originally found them back when I was in college because I remember snagging a pair of their heart shaped sunglasses with little pentagrams on the sides, super cute and I had to have them! There's mesh, witches and goth all over their clothing and they kill it! I even won a giveaway once for one of their phone cases!

Onto Disturbia which I have been so in love with every since I seen their shorts that I'll put in the collage below, I also love that they add lace details to some of their pieces as well as they have Lost Boys designs and that's enough to hook me! Everything in the collage below is definitely on my "To Buy" list.

Last, but certainly not least, is Too Fast Clothing! They've actually been incredibly sweet and sent me items to review before on my Youtube channel. Too Fast is really affordable and always have new cute things. Right now I'm really into bathing suits and would adore to have the moon one below! This is definitely my go to when I'm searching for more affordable options!

Well, I hope you guys enjoyed my top 5 spooky brands that I've currently been obsessing over! Which brands are your favourites? Let me know in the comments below!

Light Therapy Acne Mask from Neutrogena Tested!

27.9.17

Occasionally I like to sign up for campaigns and one of them was for this really cool mask from Neutrogena, and I figured I should share it with you all because it's something I hadn't even heard of before!

This mask uses both red and blue rays of lights to help fight acne with the power of light therapy. All you have to do is put this mask on for 10 minutes a day and it claims that it reduces the appearance of acne from mild to moderate.

When you first purchase the mask it comes with 1 activator which has 30 treatments on it and retails for $34.99. You plug in the activator and the lights in the mask will turn on for exactly 10 minutes and the count number on the activator will go down by 1 number each time. After that you can purchase the activator separately from the mask for $14.99 which comes with another 30 treatments.

The mask is pretty simple, it's basically a plastic mask with the lights on it and then the sunglasses to help protect your eyes from the light. It's really light weight and wasn't uncomfortable.

Personally, I really liked the mask for my first try! The lights did bug my eyes a bit but I am more light sensitive than others so that could definitely factor in as to why.

After trying it for the first time I didn't notice a difference right away which I expected, but I did notice that the next day my face wasn't irritated like it usually is and felt really good. I didn't feel puffy and my "face demons", as I like to call them, felt like even they were calm. Could have just been a coincidence, I can't be sure!

Here's my face after using the mask. I don't have any acne per say but just break outs, honestly I don't really know the difference between all that face stuff is. If you're looking for a light mask this is a really great and affordable one! You can read more about it here on Neutrogena's website!

Have you tried a light mask before? Did you like it and find it helped your skin? Let me know in the comments below!

Deadly Grounds Coffee Review and Taste Test!

25.9.17

You know that feeling of excitement when you come across something absolutely perfect in every single way? That's how I felt about this coffee brand Deadly Grounds. I came across them while browsing a Rue Morgue magazine and instantly hopped onto my laptop and ordered! They arrived and I gave them all a good taste test so here's what I think about them!

This coffee is to die for! Deadly Grounds coffee is a hearse based North American company, how cool is that?! Of course being in Canada I purchased from their Canadian website, but they also have a US website as well. They are 100% Arabic coffee beans and you can order every flavour they have in either beans or pre ground. I opted for the pre ground because I don't have the means to grind them up and just can't be bothered. I brewed them all up in my little french press from IKEA, poured them into my complimentary Deadly Grounds travel mug that they so kindly sent me and added around two scoops of sugar and enough creamer until it floats to the top for my first cup, and then my second cup of each flavour was with just two scoops of sugar, no cream.

Never Sleep Again - It's described as a full bodied, velvetty and a little smokey. It's a French Roast mixed with a Mellow Roast for maximum flavour and extra caffeine. A tad bitter, with more of a bite at the end but I really like it. The description says that it has no bitter after taste but I'd beg to differ. I do make my coffee strong but I don't see it being that drastically different. It's definitely not a bad thing!

Haunted House - It's a rich, robust body with nutty overtones and a smooth finish and is a medium roast coffee. Apparently a Canadian favourite and so far it has been my favourite blend! It's just dark enough when just using sugar that I've ran out of my sample and am already craving it!

Dot's Diener Blend - Too light for me, although I may have made it too watery. I definitely need to try it again, because keep in mind I only bought the IV sample bags to give each flavour a try. They did suggest that the bags could do one pot of coffee but I might just use more than I should or so but I get around 3-4 cups of coffee out of the samples or else I find them too weak.

Hell's Fury - Probably my favourite coffee by far because it's so strong and I can add as much cream and sugar as I want and it still tastes strong. It's a really beautiful taste, and was honestly even still great when it was cold!

Death By Chocolate - The chocolate taste was faint but I preferred that because it wasn't overwhelming but still gave it a mocha taste and feel to it. A super cozy drink, would be perfect with some steamed milk on top!

Witch's Brew -  I found that this coffee has way more flavour than the Death By Chocolate when comparing added flavours. The raspberry is really there so if you like raspberry then this is for you! I didn't taste the chocolate as much, just like the Death By Chocolate, but you can tell its there.

All the coffees are super affordable, and they're made in Ontario, Canada which I really enjoy because who doesn't want to support a spooky Canadian business! I'm definitely going to be ordering more and trying out more of their flavours! So far the Haunted House and Hell's Fury were my favourite so I'm going to snag a big bag of each and some more samples and go from there!

Do any of these flavours interest you? What do you think your favourite would be?

GIVENCHY has created the Noir Interdit Mascara in shade No.1 Deep Black which is pretty cool because it has a revolutionary brush combined with a unique formula for endlessly long lashes and made-to-measure volume! It has a flexible comb that follows the shape of your lashes and a wand that bends to a 90 degree angle.

The Noir Interdit mascara has 0.31oz / 9g and can be bought at Sephora for $38.00 CAD which is definitely not a bad price point for a high end mascara.

Main Benefit: Extreme Length
Additional Benefit: Buildable Volume
Makeup Result: Lash Extension Effect

I really like the formula, I think it coats your lashes well and the brush really defines your lashes without making them look too chunky. I actually really like the bristles on one side of the brush rather than the conventional all around because you can really get in there and separate all your lashes, you're literally brushing them. The only thing I do have a little bit of an issue with is the smell of the mascara. It's scented like roses which is really nice but it's a wee bit strong for something I'm putting by my eyes. Not the biggest issue but I thought I'd let you know anyways!

The packaging for the mascara is so beautiful, it features a ribbon like design down the front and back of the tube with GIVENCHY on the front in silver as well as silver on the outside of the ribbon. Holding the tube feels really nice and from my design side I really appreciate all the textures.

Now if you're looking at this mascara and thinking "Why do I need this? How would I even use it?" well Givenchy has provided detailed instructions telling you exactly how to.

1. Bend to 90 degrees by pressing the wand against the top of the container to reach lashes from the root up. Then brush them in a zig zag motion from the root up for length and definition.

2. Then unbend the brush to create a buildable volume.

Personally, it took me a little while to adjust to using the wand bent but it really does help to get very close and coat your entire lash from root to tip!

And of course here is two photos of me wearing the mascara, please excuse the poor quality iPhone photos, I don't have the greatest set up right now and holding a huge camera up while trying to focus it and get the shot was not in the cards for these photos, but I do think they get the point across!

What do you guys think of this mascara? Is this something you're going to be picking up?
