Soft, kissable, smooth lips are something we all desire, especially when the brutal cold, icy, snowy, dry air starts to develop in winter. It's not the kindest season for our skin and hair, but we can prepare ahead and fight back.

There's nothing worse than the look and feel of chapped, cracked lips, but it's a common condition that can occur if you don't practice some tender loving care. Your lips are one of the most vulnerable facial features. It might not appear that way, but no matter how full your lips are or how large they are, all of us share similar skin tissue.

Lips happen to be composed of the thinnest tissue in the body, and what makes them prone to dryness, chapping and cracking, is their lack of protective oil glands. Lips can also burn in the hot summer heat and even develop skin cancer. That's why, you should always give lips the attention they deserve.

The winter months will have your reaching for an effective lip balm, but there is another step you need to add to your beauty routine.

Exfoliation. Getting rid of dead skin cells is a key part of any beauty routine, but that little technique is not solely for your complexion and body. Your lips also benefit from simple exfoliation. For this beauty tip, invest in a baby's toothbrush or one designed for children. The bristles are nice and soft and will feel good as you brush, yes, brush your lips.

Lip Scrub. You can make easy and amazing lip polishes with a few household ingredients. One favourite is the Olive Oil + Sugar Scrub. Take a tiny bowl and add some sugar with a few drops of olive oil and mix together into a solid paste. Then dip your baby's toothbrush into the lip scrub, and start brushing your lips. Use the toothbrush and massage in circles for about a minute or so. Then rinse off your lips with lukewarm water. Apply some lip balm.

Lip Balm. This is one of the beauty staples that belongs in your purse, car, bedroom, kitchen, etc. Your lips need constant hydration to avoid that chapped, dry and uncomfortable feeling. Arm yourself with lip balms that feature soothing, effective ingredients like jojoba oil, Vitamin E and shea butter. This kind of rich formula will pamper your lips during winter.
Mary Kay has been so kind and has sent me bunch of their new products as well as from their Holiday collection where they have a bunch of things to keep you silky smooth as well as glam you up! I really enjoyed them and I think you all will too, so keep scrolling!

Here we have the Be Delighted Body Wash and Mousse Set which comes with a fun dotted translucent bag that matches the mousse and retails for $32 USD for the pair, and the Be Delighted Shimmer Mist retails for $16 USD.

Next up we have the Fragrance-Free Satin Hands Pampering Set and White Tea and Citrus Satin Hands Pampering Set which comes with a Protecting Softener, Refining Shea Scrub and a Nourishing Shea Cream which all together leaves your hands looking renewed and healthier, it retails for $36 USD.

Next is the Satin Lips set in the flavour White Tea and Citrus which comes with a Shea Sugar Scrub and Shea Butter Balm and retails for $22.00 USD or you can buy them separately for $12 USD each. I definitely recommend getting both because when you have dry lips you want to get rid of the dead dry skin and moisturize your lips.

The Pure Dimension eyeshadow palettes are to die for, from left to right we have Moroccan Dunes, Maui Gardens and Paris Starlight. I absolutely love that the patterns in the eyeshadows match their names. They retail for $44 USD each!

Last but not least is their Liquid Eyeliner Pen in black which is probably what I'm most excited for because I am a eyeliner junkie and the applicator tip makes applying it so easy and flawless and it's totally smudge proof. It retails for $16 USD.

I hope this inspires some gift ideas for the holidays for your loved ones or even yourself!

SHE WAS HER OWN KIND OF MAGIC | Black Magic Lashes

10.11.16

Lash obsessed with a love for the occult, I couldn't help myself but fall in love with Black Magic Lashes as soon as I laid eyes on them. I immediately had to make the hard decision of choosing exactly which lashes I wanted to try out first.

But a bit about Black Magic Lashes first, the Enigma collection and the Epic collection are totally vegan and then the Onyx collection is made from real mink fur but the fur is gently brushes from live mink and then sterilized so it's hypo-allergenic.

Upon arrival the packaging amazed me. I had purchased three sets of lashes and they came in striped paper bags held closed with the Black Magic logo stamped into wax which I thought was just beautiful. They also included a hand written note, three candies in chevron packaging and little bat confetti. The details they've included had me thinking that these just might be the perfect lashes and they definitely proved me right.

Each pair was held in a perfect box folded around them with gorgeous art, their logo on the back and inside a quote reading "The oldest stories are written in the stars.

All lashes come in the same kind of packaging, no matter if they're just the regular faux mink, luxe faux mink or real mink. The lashes come on the normal slides and they slide out of a hard clear plastic which is really quite nice. Similar to how the M.A.C lashes come.

From left to right I made the hard decision and chose Mythic which is a faux mink from the Enigma collection, Lady Killer which is a luxe faux mink from the Epic Collection and Noctura which is also a luxe faux mink from the Epic Collection.

Here are the Lady Killer eyelashes from the Epic Collection, they're the longest and most dramatic pair I picked out. Maybe not suitable as an everyday pair for some but they work perfectly for me.

Each set of lashes also came with a quote which honestly was such a nice addition. You can tell they put a lot of time and effort into their lashes and are very passionate about them.

Overall I am super impressed, the lashes seem like they're going to hold up very well and I
l'll get a lot of uses out of them. They're super stunning and I'm so excited to have them!

HORROR BLOCK | October 2016 Box

8.11.16

Well guys, I've finally received it! My very first Horror Block was on my door step the other day when I came home so the first thing I did was rush upstairs and open it, so keep scrolling to see what was in the October Horror Block box!

Here is a quick look when you first open the box, I love when the boxes are designed inside!

First off we have this syringe pen that says Dexter which I was super excited about. When I had seen that there was going to be something Dexter in the box that's what made me subscribe because I loved the show so this is super cool to have. It is a Horror Block exclusive.

Next off is this exclusive Doug Bradley photo as Pinhead with his signature on it! Needless to say that's pretty damn cool and I'll definitely be framing it and hanging it up above my sofa!

There was this exclusive money clip in the shape of a Quija planchette which I really love. Although I'm not going to use it to hold money together I'm thinking maybe business cards or papers of some sort. It's a really good quality and one of the best looking items in the box.

Next up is this fabulous The Walking Dead journal that has a creepy zombie on the front, and then on the inside has another zombie scene and in the back has another zombie scene with a hidden pocket. It actually feels really lovely and quality which is super nice. It also has a indented blood splatter on the back.

As far as I know every box comes with a T shirt and I was super excited for that because I'd love to grow my collection of cool T shirts. This one is super hilarious and features Michael Myers as a school logo with Run for your life, Haddonfield High Track Team.

I chose a size small in the unisex adult and it fits absolutely perfect and very comfortably.

They gave us a copy of a movie called Demonic Toys which quite frankly I don't have high hopes for but regardless I'll probably give it a watch eventually.

Last but not least is a copy of Rue Morgue #172 which is a horror genre magazine and I am very excited to read this. I can't ever seem to find a good magazine that actually is about something I enjoy so this should be a good read!

Needless to say I was not disappointed, this box was definitely worth the money and I really look forward to receiving next box in November! What was your favourite item in the box? Mine was definitely the Dexter pen, the autographed photo and the T shirt!

It's such a struggle for me when it becomes colder out and I have to bundle up and cover all my cute outfits up. Luckily it's just fall now so I have some time to get creative with layering before I have to totally cover up! Luckily though, eShakti dropped into my emails at just the right time and gave me the opportunity to review an item from their site! Of course I said yes because who doesn't love clothing that's specifically tailored to them? I know I do! I struggle to find clothing that fits me perfectly and with eShakti you can change almost everything depending on the piece to custom fit you.

With the piece that I picked, the Cowl Neck Cotton Knit Top in black for $46.95, I could choose my size which is XS, my height which is 5'1", as well as sleeve length which I chose as bracelet length and tunic length which I left as shown in the product photo, you could also remove the pockets but who would want to do that! I wanted this piece to keep me warm and also not have to worry about adjusting the sleeves all day, I didn't want it to be dress length, just a longer sweater length.

I am super pleased with this piece, it's made from cotton/spandex, jersey knit. It has a light stretch and a pleasant weight to the fabric. It makes it one of my favourite pieces for fall now because I love the free flowing witchy vibes I get from this piece and because it feels like a warm, soft hug with a scarf attached. It slips on overtop of your head and has two pockets, one on each side with an asymmetrical hem.
